Athletics - See updates on our Athletics Page

Riverside students have been taking part in many field studies to begin the school year.  A huge thank you to the staff who have invested time to organize these valuable experiences, but also to the dozens of parent volunteers who have expressed their support for our school and our students by joining us for supervision.  Our program relies on the engaged, supportive parent and caregiver community that we have, particularly as it comes to field study supervision.  The excellent results our students achieve each year are certainly positively impacted by our shared work in this area.  Joining us on these trips is also a wonderful way to get to know our students and build connections with our community.

Crochet Club – seeking donations

Ms. Ware is leading our Crochet Club for Grades 6-9 students, beginning soon!  She is seeking donations of yarn (any type or length) and hooks.  If you have any of these items that you are willing to part with, please send them to the main office, for her attention.

Scholastic Book Fair!

Ms. Dixon recently shared the results from the book fair that took place at the end of September.  Our community purchased over $11,000 worth of books and other items from the book fair!  I would estimate that Ms. Dixon will receive $5000 in credit from these sales to purchase even more great titles for our Library.  Thank you to all who joined and supported this endeavor, including volunteers who worked alongside Ms. Dixon.

Riverside Parent Society Annual General Meeting – October 15

Mark your calendars! Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on October 15th during our regular Parent Society Meeting.

We’ll be looking back at the 2025/2026 school year, including what we accomplished together, how funds were used, and what’s ahead for our school community.

The entire parent body is welcome — and encouraged — to join us! Your voice, ideas and involvement help shape what happens at Riverside and the experiences we create for our students.

Whether you’ve been involved all year or this is your first meeting, come be part of the conversation and help make an impact on our students and school community.

We’d love to see you there!

School Council updates

Healthy hunger is in full swing!  Please sign up so you can receive updates.  We have many dates and restaurants in the system and it's shaping up to be an exciting year.  Orders are made through https://healthyhunger.ca/

Mark your calendars!  Our first Bottle Drive is October 15.  All students who bring a bag of bottles will receive a small treat and have their name entered into a draw for a class popcorn party.

The funds raised will go towards school council funded activities throughout the year such as field study bussing, the Grade 9 graduation, staff appreciation lunch, Terry Fox carrots, athletics banquet, activity day supplies, groceries for Riverside families in need and so much more!!

If there are any questions please reach out to schoolcouncil.riverside@gmail.com

Thank you for your continued support,
