Some projects that have been ongoing at Riverside for the last months are starting to wind down. Our new roof is almost fully installed, and the project to replace exterior doors at our school is entering the back half. Our students have done a great job in navigating through different doors being unavailable, or construction noises in the school.  

 

I want to tell you about an additional (virtual) renovation project for Riverside. Our website will be moving to a new platform and a new location effective Thursday, February 8. After that time, the Riverside School website can be accessed at https://riverside.cbe.ab.ca. Until then, please continue using the current address. This changeover will mean that I will be unable to upload next week’s update message to the school website. I will still send the entire message via SchoolMessenger as is my typical practice. 

 

OEB Breakfast fundraiser for Riverside School!  

OEB Bridgeland has graciously agreed to donate a portion of their proceeds from sales on Thursday, February 15 to Riverside School between the hours of 7:30AM and 2:45PM. Make sure to spread the word about this amazing opportunity.  

 

Uniform updates and upcoming McCarthy purchasing window   

I'd like to begin by thanking all members of the Riverside community: students, families, and staff, for their patience as we navigated the reintroduction of uniforms as an expectation at Riverside this year. I feel it has gone as smoothly as possible. Annie and I will be going to classes over the next while to clarify uniform expectations moving forward (that students should all be able to wear “Riverside” clothing while at school). I will update you again once these conversations have taken place. At that point, students who are not able to adhere to expectations will be asked to use a ‘loaner’ top from the main office.  

 

The final uniform purchasing window for McCarthy Uniforms will open between March 13 and April 30. I do not expect that they will be able to extend this window in either direction. The selection of uniform tops available to purchase in this window will not change from previous selections. As always, if your family requires support in purchasing uniform items, please let me know directly via email.
