Riverside staff are busily finalizing student report cards, to ensure they are ready to go next Tuesday, January 30. A reminder that report card information is provided via myCBE/PowerSchool accounts. As a rule, paper report cards are not provided.  

 

I will be sharing an email on Friday by the end of the day with specific information about what to expect with report cards. If you have any questions about the information in your child’s report card, please contact their teacher directly.  

 

We are also very excited for the start of the volleyball season for both our boys and girls teams. Our girls play their first game at home tomorrow at 4:00PM. Come cheer them on if you’re available!

OEB Breakfast fundraiser for Riverside School! 

 

OEB Bridgeland has graciously agreed to donate a portion of their proceeds from sales on Thursday, February 15 to Riverside School between the hours of 7:30AM and 2:45PM. Make sure to spread the word about this amazing opportunity. 

 

Uniform updates and upcoming McCarthy purchasing window  

 

I'd like to begin by thanking all members of the Riverside community: students, families, and staff, for their patience as we navigated the reintroduction of uniforms as an expectation at Riverside this year. I feel it has gone as smoothly as possible. Annie and I will be going to classes over the next while to clarify uniform expectations moving forward (that students should all be able to wear “Riverside” clothing while at school). I will update you again once these conversations have taken place. At that point, students who are not able to adhere to expectations will be asked to use a ‘loaner’ top from the main office. 

 

The final uniform purchasing window for McCarthy Uniforms will open between March 13 and April 30. I do not expect that they will be able to extend this window in either direction. The selection of uniform tops available to purchase in this window will not change from previous selections. As always, if your family requires support in purchasing uniform items, please let me know directly via email. 

 

January School Council and Parent Society meeting 

 

Thank you to those parents who were able to attend last week’s School Council and Parent Society meeting. I was very proud to present the work our staff completed with respect to our School Development Plan, and how it will impact instruction at Riverside School for this school year. The next meeting for these groups will take place on February 22 at 7:00PM in the Learning Commons. Hoping to see you there!
