Grade 6 and 9s have begun writing Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs), which are mandated assessments from the provincial government to provide assurance about the quality of education at Alberta schools.  At Riverside, this is truly the work of the entire school community; students being quiet/calm in hallways to support their friends; parents, caregivers and family members who help with homework; and all staff who have worked with these students throughout their time at our school.  Our excellent results are due to our entire community recognizing the value and importance of learning – so PATs become an opportunity for students to ‘show off’!

Important McCarthy Uniforms updates

McCarthy Uniforms recently informed me they will be moving to over-the-counter retail purchasing in store effective June 1, which means there will be no more purchasing windows moving forward.  I’m very excited by this welcome news and am thankful for their partnership.

We have officially received enough interest in the synthetic blend/’athletic material’ t-shirts to make a purchase of these items.  We will be placing the order at the end of the working day on June 1.  If you have expressed interest in one of these items, you will see a charge for the t-shirt via your myCBE/PowerSchool account.

Enrollment intentions for 2026-27

We have opened an Enrollment Intentions Form available through myCBE/PowerSchool accounts.  This form allows you to confirm your child’s attendance for the 2026-27 school year or let us know that you plan to have them attend elsewhere.  Any information you share with us is non-binding and you are not committing to anything by sharing your intents – you are simply providing us with valuable information to support our registration practices.

Thank you for your continued support,

Steve Radder, Principal

Riverside School
