Thank you to all those who took a moment to notify us of your plans for your child’s enrolment in the 2026-27 via your myCBE/PowerSchool accounts. Notifying us if you are planning to register your child in another school is incredibly helpful for planning purchases. Even if you are considering other schools, please do not hesitate to reach out to the main office as we are always happy to help. There is never a time when sharing such information would (or even could) lead to your child ‘losing’ their spot at Riverside.
Our badminton season is winding down with the year-end tournaments coming this week and next. The Ravens Flag Football teams have been practicing in anticipation of their tournament in early June, which leaves Track and Field as the remaining athletic team for this school year. Our PE teachers announce tryout information in class and via the athletics page linked above. Let’s go, Ravens!
School Council and Parent Society updates
Growing smiles plant pickup will be this Thursday, May 14th 7:45-9:00 am and 2:30-4:00 pm. If you can’t make it during those times, please reach out to schoolcouncil.riverside@gmail.com.
Our spring bottle drive will take place Wednesday, May 27th. Please bring bottles to the parking lot near the bike cage from 7:45-9:00 and 2:30-5:00.
Nominations for the role of Secretary, Treasurer and School Council Co-President are now open and we will be voting on these positions at the next meeting on Thursday, May 21. Openings were formally announced at the School Council meeting in April and several individuals in attendance expressed interest in all three positions. Nominations will remain open until Tuesday, May 20 at 4:00pm. Please email schoolcouncil.riverside@gmail.com for more information on the roles or if you wish to put your name forward.
Our May School Council and Parent Society meeting will take place at 7:00PM on May 21 in our Learning Commons. This will also be the final meetings for the current school year for each of these groups. Elections for executive positions will take place at this meeting. Please ‘stay tuned’ for further information about this.
Attending School Council and Parent Society meetings is a great way to get involved in our school community, have a say in our programming, and partner with staff to make our school even greater than it already is! Joining these meetings does not obligate you to volunteer or take on additional work. If you’ve never joined us, please feel very welcome to join.
Spring uniform purchasing window
McCarthy Uniforms recently shared a reminder that the uniform purchasing window for the spring will open on April 15th and will end on May 31st. This will be the final opportunity to purchase uniform items for the 25-26 school year.
Thank you for your continued support,
