Thank you for your patience in awaiting this update. It was important to me to share some exciting news with our school community this morning: that Riverside students have completed the 1,000,000 Pages Challenge they made with me earlier this year! I am very proud of them for accomplishing this, for the work they put in, and for the learning we have all done about just how many pages 1,000,000 is. Great work, students – I look forward to holding up my end of the challenge (wearing a gorilla costume to work for one day) after Spring Break.
With Spring Break about to begin for students, on behalf of all staff at Riverside School, I wish our students and families a tremendous break full of laughter and fun. You’ve earned some time away! I look forward to hearing about all your adventures when we return April 2.
And one small note for parents and guardians: it would be appreciated if you took a moment to review your myCBE/PowerSchool account, particularly regarding fees for your children. There are currently $30,000 of unpaid fees at Riverside School. As always, if there are any concerns regarding a temporary or even long-term inability to pay these fees, please reach out to me directly so we can determine how the school can provide support!
Pi Day contest update!
Please join me in congratulating Sajana V in Grade 5 for winning the 2024 Pi Day contest held earlier this month. Sajana was able to memorize and recite a total of 506 digits of Pi. Please also join me in sharing a hearty congratulations to all Riverside students who participated in this contest, whether in classrooms or in the Gymnasium. Your dedication and commitment are incredible!
McCarthy Uniforms update – purchasing window open
A reminder to Riverside families that McCarthy Uniform’s purchasing window for additional uniform pieces is open now, through April 30. There are no changes to the specific uniform items that are available for purchase.
This will be the last purchasing window during the current school year. The next purchasing window will open in mid-July, and stay open for a couple of months to facilitate start-of-year purchases. I will be happy to share further information as it is finalized.
