A hearty congratulations to our boys and girls volleyball teams for their growth and successes during the season, which comes to an end this week. Our boys team will play their divisional semifinal game later this afternoon, and if they win, will play in the finals at Crescent Heights High School on Friday at 5:00. Students, you have represented our school so well during this season, and we were all very proud to cheer you on!
A reminder about enrolment for next year: no action is needed if you intend for your child to continue to be enrolled at Riverside for 2024-25. Thank you to those of you who have reached out to indicate this, though it is not necessary! We would, however, appreciate if you could email us at riverside@cbe.ab.ca to indicate if you do not intend for your child to continue with us next year (unless your child is in Grade 9 – we know they are going to high school!).
McCarthy Uniforms update – purchasing window open
A reminder to Riverside families that McCarthy Uniform’s purchasing window for additional uniform pieces is open now, through April 30. There are no changes to the specific uniform items that are available for purchase.
This will be the last purchasing window during the current school year. The next purchasing window will open in mid-July, and stay open for a couple of months to facilitate start-of-year purchases. I will be happy to share further information as it is finalized.
Learning Commons during Ramadan
From now through the end of the school day on April 9, please note that our Learning Commons will be a food-free space in our school to support our students who are fasting while observing Ramadan. Many Riverside students are practicing fasting for the first time in their lives (or have little experience with this), and we thank the entire school community for supporting them in their learning.
To be clear, the only change that is being made is that the Learning Commons will be food-free during this time. All Riverside students are welcome to access this space at lunch.
With kind regards,
Steve Radder, Principal
Riverside School
