Athletics - See updates on our Athletics Page

Today has been the first day that air quality has affected school operations to the point where we had to have recess inside today.  Students have done a tremendous job at adapting to these unfortunate conditions, while staff have ensured that our typical operations can continue to the greatest extent possible.

Later this week, through next week, our Grade 6 and 9 students will be completing their Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) in Science, Social Studies, English, and Math.  These assessments present an opportunity for students to ‘show what they know’, but they are also an important assurance measure for Albertans regarding teaching and learning in our school, in the CBE, and in the whole province.  All the best to these Ravens as they complete this work!

Please note a revision to the calendar of events above: the final day of classes for Kindergarten students is June 25.  Students will attend at their usual times on that day and then we will wish them a happy summer!

Used Uniform Sale – June 23 at 3:00 (Learning Commons)

Plans are underway for a used uniform sale, to take place during the final week of the school year, specifically on June 23, starting at 3:00.

Families can begin sending in used uniform items to the school effective Monday, June 16.   A reminder that the final week of classes (June 23-27) will be “Free Dress” for the entire week of classes.   Volunteers will be sorting and organizing items leading up to the sale.  We will assume that all items being sent in are being donated by families, and we thank you for your support.  All proceeds raised from this uniform sale will be used to provide uniform items to students whose families need financial assistance in the future.

If you are hoping to have your used uniform items sold on a ‘consignment’ basis, please reach out to our School Council directly via email at schoolcouncil.riverside@gmail.com.

Items for sale will be priced as follows: t-shirts, and polo shirts (both short- and long-sleeved) $5; hoodies, sweatshirts, and zip-up hoodies $10.  Please keep in mind that there will be a limited supply of uniforms available as we have only had our new uniform pieces for 2 years!

Parent Society Bottle Drive

A huge thank you to our Parent Society, and all those Riverside families who brought in bottles and cans during the bottle drive held recently.  Over $1800 was raised through this endeavour, and the funds will be used by our School Council and Parent Society to enhance student experiences here at our school.

Thank you for your continued support,

Steve Radder, Principal
