We celebrated our annual Science Olympics event today, with students of all grades working together to solve a series of STEM challenges and build community.  This is our biggest celebration of the year, and is a huge undertaking from everyone in our community.  Thank you to all staff who worked diligently to plan this year’s event; to those volunteers who joined to be extra sets of hands on a messy day; and to all community families who saved their recycling to send to the school.

On a personal note, today marks the completion of my 3rd full year as Principal of Riverside School.  Each day I am humbled and grateful to be a part of this community.  These last 3 years have been the greatest professional growth I have experienced, and my life is better having been a Raven.  Thank you for your ongoing support of our students!

CBE Expresses Condolences to the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School Community

The tragic events at the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in British Columbia have shocked and saddened all of us. The Calgary Board of Education sends our thoughts and condolences to the school, community and all those impacted by this event. Schools are part of the broader community, and we recognize the deep impact this tragedy has had. As educators, we share in the community’s sorrow and extend our sympathy and support to all those affected.

School Council and Parent Society updates

Our February School Council and Parent Society meeting will take place at 7:00 on Thursday, February 19 in our Learning Commons.

Attending School Council and Parent Society meetings is a great way to get involved in our school community, have a say in our programming, and partner with staff to make our school even greater than it already is!  Joining these meetings does not obligate you to volunteer or take on additional work.  If you’ve never joined us, please feel very welcome to join.

Thank you for your continued support,

Steve Radder, Principal
