As I’m sitting to write this, staff and students just re-entered the school after we completed our 4th (of 6) fire drills this year. Students did a tremendous job of practicing in this important aspect of school safety. I am thankful for their efforts – not only in drills like these, but in all of their daily work! 

Our Earth Day celebrations this year were tremendous; thank you to everyone who provided support for the day, and to Ms. Lam and Ms. Ware for their leadership of this initiative. I receive multiple communications from community members who both notice and appreciate our community’s work to recognize and celebrate this important day! 

School Council and Parent Society updates 

School Council and Parent Society currently have two vacancies for the 2024-25 school year: Secretary and Naturalization Area Coordinator.  If anyone is interested or has questions, please reach out to Jen Hvingelby (School Council Chair) at schoolcouncil.riverside@gmail.com or Leslie Gault (Parent Society President) at parentsociety.riverside@gmail.com.  Elections for these positions will take place during May’s meetings (Thursday, May 16 at 7:00PM).

McCarthy Uniforms update – purchasing window open  

A reminder to Riverside families that McCarthy Uniform’s purchasing window for additional uniform pieces is open now, through April 30.  There are no changes to the specific uniform items that are available for purchase.   

This will be the last purchasing window during the current school year.  The next purchasing window will open in mid-July, and stay open for a couple of months to facilitate start-of-year purchases.  I will be happy to share further information as it is finalized.
